Outside of her professional career and educational training in nursing, Erin Orchard enjoys skiing. Erin learned to ski when she was young and has been an avid skier ever since. For Erin Orchard, skiing is a great way to get outdoors and stay active. Skiing offers a great sense of adventure rushing down the slopes combined with the relaxation of magnificent views and warming up with a hot chocolate by the fire in the lodge.
Living in New England, Erin Orchard has visited many mountains and ski resorts on the East Coast. Listed below are some of her favorite ski mountains and resorts in the New England area:
Wachusett Mountain is one of the greatest local and family mountains in New England. Erin Orchard grew up in Acton, Massachusetts, making Wachusett just a quick drive away from getting in a great day of skiing. The name “Wachusett” comes from the Algonquin Indian word for “The Great Hill”. While Wachusett is not as big as some of the other mountains a little farther north, it has plenty to offer with a number of diverse trails for all ages and skill levels, great food, entertainment, and fun for the whole family.
Killington Ski Resort in Vermont is one of the largest and most well known mountains in the East. Killington is made up of seven mountain areas with a summit reaching 4,241 feet. Erin Orchard loves to travel up to Killington occasionally for weekend trips to enjoy the many miles of trails and beautiful far reaching views the mountain has to offer.
As the largest ski resort in New Hampshire, Bretton Woods is a great place to go skiing with friends and family. Bretton Woods has tons of on-site activities outside of skiing as well as condos and cabins on the mountain that you can rent and start skiing from right outside your door.
